At The Venny

During first and second school terms in 2012, Chamber Made Opera is partnering with The Venny Adventure Playground in Kensington to develop an innovative cross-cultural arts education project. The Venny provides children and their families from the Kensington High Rise Commission Housing and the local area with a communal back yard, complete with chooks, guinea pigs, trampolines, cubby houses and more.

The children, led by a team of Chamber Made Opera artists, will create micro-operas inspired by their lives. These micro-operas will be realised by using shadow puppets in a performance for the community in early May 2012. The project will be led by writer/librettist Alan Gilmour, percussionist/composer Matthias Schack-Arnott and puppeteer/theatre maker Sarah Kriegler
